Intro
Onset is built by Mehmet Heleteli, an independent developer based in Prague. This page explains what Onset does and doesn't do with your data.
Summary
Onset is a local-first daily planner. Your time blocks, tasks, and reminders live on your device and — for Pro subscribers — in your own iCloud account. Nothing is sent to a server I operate. I have no access to your data.
What it stores
On your device, Onset stores the time blocks, reminders, tasks, categories, and notes you create. Storage is handled by Apple's SwiftData framework. If you subscribe to Pro and have iCloud enabled, the same data syncs to your private CloudKit database — owned by you, accessible only by you, never visible to the developer.
What it doesn't do
- Does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data
- Does not include analytics, telemetry, or tracking pixels
- Does not include third-party SDKs of any kind
- Does not show ads
- Does not require an account — no email, no sign-up, no login
- Does not log usage or events to any server
In-app purchases
Onset offers an optional Pro subscription (monthly or yearly) and a one-time Lifetime purchase. All transactions are handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment; the developer never sees your card details, billing address, or Apple ID. Subscription status is verified locally via Apple's APIs.
On-device and network behavior
Onset has no backend service. The only network activity occurs through Apple's own services:
- Apple StoreKit for subscription verification
- Apple CloudKit for Pro subscribers syncing their own data across their own Apple devices
- Apple Calendar integration is read-only and happens entirely on-device; calendar events are never transmitted off the device
Spotlight indexing of your blocks excludes notes and other private details. Widgets and Live Activities read your data locally and display it on-device — nothing is sent over the network.
Children's privacy
Onset is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
